9/12/11 What is Broadcast Journalism?

Define “Broadcast Journalism” in 1-3 sentences.

the telling of current events that are newsworthy.


List and describe the six criteria of newsworthiness.

1. effects a mass number of people, significant

2. unusualness, 

3. proximity, we care about news that is close to us, not far away

4.celebritys,or  promience

5. timelyness, people like news that just happened not weeks old news, current events
    sports weather are two examples

6.  human interest, some soft warm fuzzy news at the end of the show to make you feel good



What are the differences between print journalism and broadcast journalism?
1.  broadcast is much more current and LIVE

2.  print allows you to skip ahead to what u want to read

3. print is way more depth and the fine print


How is the Internet impacting broadcast journalism?

because people can read the newspaper online and not pay for it
